Primary Pediatrics is a pediatric group practice in Maryland with three convenient locations in Laurel, Bowie, and Silver Spring. We take care of infants, children, and adolescents from birth through 21 years of age. Our group has 10 physicians and 2 pediatric nurse practitioners, and we are affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.We hope you find the information on this website helpful. **Current Issues** (updated 2/19/2012)
- Insurance update: As of 2/1/2012, we are no longer accepting patients with United Health Care Chesapeake (UHC/CH) Americhoice. However, we welcome current UHC/CH members to stay with the practice by switching to Priority Partners. Please call our office if you have any questions, and you can get more information about Priority Partners at http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/priority_partners/.
-Flu vaccine (as of 2/2012): we do not have influenza vaccine available in any of our offices.
- As of March 2011, the AAP recommends that all children should ride in a rear-facing carseat until 2 years of age (see Car Seat Information for details).
- Sign up for the patient portal: For now, you will be able to use the portal to update your information (address, insurance, etc.), and we will be using the portal to send you appointment reminders as well as other non-urgent information, such as lab results, by e-mail. Eventually the portal will allow you to schedule appointments, request refills, and do many other routine functions. To get more information and create an account, go to https://mycw4.eclinicalweb.com/prim/jsp/login.jsp. - We have walk-in hours for sick visits in all 3 of our offices Monday through Friday at 8:00 am only. You must be signed in by 8:15 am. We do not have walk-in hours on the weekends. All weekend visits are in the Laurel office by appointment only. The office opens at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
