Dr. Swapna Abhyankar grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. She attended Stanford University and graduated with Distinction with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Systems.
Dr. Abhyankar attended the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and she did her pediatrics training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Abhyankar joined Primary Pediatrics in August 2005. In February 2010, Dr. Abhyankar started a Clinical Informatics fellowship at the National Library of Medicine (a part of NIH). She will continue to see patients in the Silver Spring office 2 days a month.
Dr. Abhyankar lives in Bethesda with her husband, Andrew, and their sons, Arun and Ajay.
